What Working Here Is Actually Like
Worth saying plainly before you apply. This is a small organisation with a lean head office and most of its people on the ground. Roles are broad, and nobody has the luxury of doing only the part of their job description they enjoy.
The days start early. Campus roles are residential or close to it, and the gaushala does not observe weekends. You will be closer to the people you serve than in almost any equivalent role, which is both the reward and the difficulty — there is no layer of abstraction between a decision and the person it lands on.
We cannot match corporate salaries and do not pretend otherwise. What we can offer is responsibility early, work whose result you can see within the week, and colleagues who are here for the same reason you are.

The Kinds of Roles We Fill
Vacancies vary. These are the areas in which we hire when funding allows.
Teachers & wardens
Subject teachers for the Gurukul, bridge-teaching specialists for children who arrive behind, and residential wardens. Patience with a child who has never held a pencil matters more than a distinguished CV.
Gaushala staff
Cattle handlers and supervisors who will be there at five in the morning in every season. Experience with indigenous breeds and with sick or aged animals is valuable.
Ayurveda & therapy
Vaidyas, panchakarma therapists and yoga instructors for the campus centre, plus research assistants for the documentation work.
Care staff
Attendants and night staff for the old age home. The work is as much companionship as care, and residents notice immediately who is genuinely present.
Programme & field coordination
People who can organise a camp end to end — site, notice, volunteers, supplies, records and follow-up — and write down honestly what happened.
Accounts & administration
Bookkeeping with fund accounting for restricted donations, statutory compliance, donor records and correspondence. Precision here is what makes our promises credible.
Careers — Your Questions
How do I apply if there is no vacancy listed?
Write to info@hritanfoundation.com with your CV and a short note on what you would want to do here. We keep applications on file and go back to them when a role opens.
What does the hiring process look like?
A conversation, a visit to the campus or a camp, and for child-facing roles, screening and a safeguarding briefing before you start. We would rather you saw the work before accepting than resigned three months in.
Are roles residential?
Campus roles — teaching, wardening, gaushala and care staff — are residential or require living nearby, because the work does not fit office hours. Administrative roles are based at the Noida office.
Do you take interns or fellows?
Yes, where we can supervise properly. Documentation of the Ayurveda research, impact assessment, and programme coordination all suit a serious internship. We do not take interns simply to have interns.
Is there a fee, or a deposit, at any stage?
Never. We do not charge applicants anything at any point and we do not use recruitment agents who do. If someone asks you for money in our name, please tell us.
